Jan Weed Baumer is a former acquisitions and substantive editor for HarperOne, the spiritual, religious, self-help, and mind/body/spirit imprint of HarperCollins Publishers. She has edited and acquired numerous nonfiction titles for HarperCollins including New York Times bestsellers Evidence of the Afterlife by Dr. Jeffrey Long and If You Have to Cry, Go Outside by TV personality Kelly Cutrone. She has had the privilege of working with authors such as Sally Quinn, Eric Metaxas, James Van Praagh, Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, and the late Marcus Borg, in addition to many others. Prior to working at HarperCollins, Jan was a staff writer and editorial assistant at Ellie Award-winning magazine Budget Living in New York City. After relocating to Austin in 2009, Jan served as the programming director for The Writers’ League of Texas and then as editorial director for Austin-based literary agency The Fedd Agency. She is currently a freelance editor and mother of two brilliant and fearless girls.
